The Brevard Stars 16u was founded in 1996 with support from Craig Biggio, now a Hall of Famer. Our mission has always been to foster talent and create opportunities for young athletes in our community. Recognizing the need for competitive programs, we guided young players like David Callahan, the first drafted from our team, and Mario Garza, who played for Team USA and Stanford before joining the Astros. Several of our players have achieved great success at various collegiate levels, showcasing the effectiveness of our training programs.

In 1999-2000, over 13 players were drafted, including Brendan Winn, who was drafted four times. This success not only contributed to our reputation but also set a foundation for future players to aspire to. By 2003, we formed a scout league at Florida Tech, observing significant interest from college recruiters and pro scouts. This change marked a new era for our organization, expanding our reach and impact in youth baseball.

In 2005, due to increasing interest across the state, we changed our name to Florida Stars. As youth sports evolved, I recognized the importance of being more involved as a parent. In 2010, I stepped back to watch my own kids play. Their passion for the game reignited my own commitment to the program and its legacy.

When former players Jason and Chris wanted to revive the name “Stars,” I felt honored. With the right vision and dedication, I am confident that we will witness the emergence of new stars in the making. I believe they will bring this program back to its glory days, supported by our many drafted players and NCAA alumni. Together, we are committed to developing not just skilled players, but also well-rounded individuals.
